About us

We turn sustainability into strategy

Our goal is to help you improve the sustainability of your products long-term, making you a stronger player in a resource-scarce economy.

I’m Susanne, the founder of Improving Sustainability. For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of sustainability, product development, and policy — from LCAs and circular design to policy and system innovation. The questions were often complex, the thinking ahead of its time. But at some point, it became clear: the science is here. The methods exist. What’s missing is action.

That shift — from knowing to doing — is where real change begins. I founded this company to help businesses use EPDs as a strategic tool: for clarity, better products, and long-term competitiveness in a fast-moving market.

Alongside consulting, I train companies to build in-house EPD expertise. With a background in law, environmental science, as well as sustainability and climate risk management, I bring both technical depth and the long view needed to turn sustainability into business opportunity.

What we believe in

We see EPDs not just as a collection of data. They are strategic tools. Decision-making maps. A chance to understand your product on a deeper level and shape a more resilient business for the future. We’re here to help you see what’s behind the data — and how to use it to grow stronger, greener, and smarter.

Two experts. One shared goal.

We’re a small, dedicated team with over 25 years of combined experience. Our backgrounds blend technical know-how with a strategic lens, so you get guidance that’s not only accurate, but also meaningful.

“An EPD isn’t just a document — it’s a mirror for your product and a map for your next move. Done right, it shows you where you stand today and where you can grow tomorrow.”

“EPD creation is not about the results you achieve, but the knowledge you gain along the way to make your own product better and, above all, more sustainable in the future.”
