QEEO certification programme

The regulation is here. The question is how prepared you are.
The EU’s Construction Products Regulation (CPR) is increasing requirements for standardized environmental product data, such as those underlying Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). At the same time, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is pushing Member States to introduce building‑level life‑cycle assessments and progressively set life‑cycle carbon benchmarks and limit values.
What this means for manufacturers: EPDs are no longer a differentiator. They’re a condition for market access.
And as EPD demand scales, so does the complexity: more products, more data, more scrutiny from verifiers and clients alike.
If your company doesn’t have someone who truly understands the process, you’re exposed.
Does any of this sound familiar?
You’re the person responsible for EPDs in your company, or you’re about to be. That means making real decisions: which consultant to hire, which software to buy, which programme operator to work with, how much budget to allocate, and why certain methodology choices seem to take weeks to resolve.
The problem is that most of this knowledge you’ve had to build yourself. From reading, from asking around, from learning on the job. The topic is evolving constantly and there’s no established training pathway, so everyone in your position has gaps they often can’t see.
You know a lot. But you’ve probably also made a decision or two and wondered, afterwards, whether you’d had the full picture.
That’s not a personal failing. It’s a structural problem with how EPD knowledge gets built. The QEEO programme from the ECO Platform is designed specifically to fix it.
Three things are making EPD competence non-optional
Regulation is getting more complex and confusing.
The market is moving fast. With or without you.
The knowledge gap is invisible until it costs you something.
Become a qualified ECO EPD Officer
ECO Platform, together with us, has developed a three-level certification pathway that builds genuine, working expertise in EPD production and management.
Not theoretical. Not surface-level. The kind of knowledge that lets you run a complex EPD workflow, evaluate your consultants’ work, and make the right methodological calls. Based on knowledge, not on expensive guesswork.

Common questions
We’ll be happy to assist and answer any questions you might have – just get in touch via info@improving-sustainability.com
Who is the QEEO for? The person who produces EPDs, or the person who manages the process?
In that case, the programme gives you both dimensions. If you’re purely a technical LCA practitioner looking for practitioner-level training, there are other ECO Platform programmes (QEEP, QEEC) that may be more relevant.
Get in touch with us, and we will help you figure out the right fit.
Do I need prior EPD or LCA knowledge to start?
Can I book a single level?
I already know quite a bit about EPDs. Is this still worth my time?
